Location: Burton Cottages, Bishops Lane, Robertsbridge, East Sussex (TN32 5BA)

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Salary: £11.99 per hour

About the Role:

You'll support the people who call Burton Cottages their home in their daily lives, helping to manage their behaviours and generally enriching their days while rewarding yours.

Burton Cottages is a two-storey purpose-built dwelling situated in Robertsbridge in the heart of rural East Sussex and within easy walking distance of local shops. The home is split into two cottages, one property supporting four residents and the other property supporting five. We are a short distance from Battle and Hastings and well placed to enable them to take advantage of the variety of local beaches, towns and villages of rural East Sussex.

Our service in Robertsbridge is on a journey to make it an amazing place for the people we support. In order to do this, we need even more amazing carers like you to join our team.

We are currently seeking a dedicated PBS Support Worker to join our fantastic staff team.

Due to the nature of the people we support, there are times when behaviours of concern do arise and so it is vital that you are able to stay calm in a challenging situation whilst remaining positive and professional.

What you can expect from us:

We will support you with regular access to, and supervision with, a Positive Behaviour Support Specialist as well as with your line manager, and the opportunity to complete a L3 accredited PBS qualification.

A PBS Support Worker should be:

Able to work with the PBS team to create and follow behavioural management strategies

Able to source and establish an activity planner.

Experienced in de-escalating difficult situations in a calm, positive and proactive way

Physically fit

Not be afraid to try new things

Resilient

Able to actively support, promoting independence

As a member of our team, you should have:

Experience of working with people with a learning disability and/or Autism

Experience of working with people who may display behaviours of concern. A willingness to learn new skills and receive feedback through regular observations and coaching sessions from our PBS Specialist team.

A willingness to complete PBS qualifications – this requires at least L2 English and Maths

Ideally have a driving licence and be able to drive a company vehicle
