How we're funded Local authorities Like many charities which provide care and support, the majority of Aspens’ funding comes from local authorities. Currently, 30 different local authorities provide funding for the many different services that Aspens provides at bases all over the South East. We access funding through 21 individual framework contracts and we hold eight different service contracts. We work closely with the local authorities that fund our work to ensure that Aspens’ services provide value for money and the best possible care and quality for the individuals we support. As part of the process, each year we provide data outlining our financial position, to demonstrate the financial pressures faced by the charity and inform authorities’ annual inflationary uplift process. Aspens stores To help ensure Aspens remains financially sustainable, we also have a number of high street charity shops. As well as maintaining a valuable presence on the high street, our high street stores provide valuable additional income, which enhances our service offering and helps keep us connected to the communities we work within. Fundraising We have a dedicated fundraising team which raises funds from individuals, trusts and foundations. Over many years Aspens has benefited from the amazing support of a number of grant-making organisations which fund projects that have both a charitable purpose and a public benefit. Grant-makers play a vital role in ensuring that the people we support enjoy a high quality of life and are able to make the most of what is available to them. While we have been fortunate to receive funding from grant makers over a number of years, we are always looking to build relationships with new donors.
